Most sunscreens focus on UVB and UVA. This one is formulated to defend against more of the sun’s spectrum, with antioxidants for what gets through.

Burning rays
Short-wave UV that causes sunburn. SPF 50 is the level of protection against these.

How to use it
- 1
Make it the last step of your morning routine, over the Hydralite Moisturiser.
- 2
Apply generously: about a quarter of a teaspoon (two finger-lengths) for your face, and more for your neck, ears and the backs of your hands. Avoid the delicate eye area.
- 3
Reapply every two hours outdoors, and after swimming, sweating or towel drying.
- 4
Wear it every day, all year, including cloudy days, winter and days at your desk near a window.

Your questions, answered
Is SPF 50 necessary, or is SPF 30 enough?
SPF 30 is a reasonable minimum for short everyday exposure. With South Africa's strong UV, and especially after treatments, SPF 50 is the sensible everyday choice.
Does it feel greasy or leave a white cast?
No. It is a light cream-gel fluid that dries to an invisible, dry-touch finish, even on oily skin.
Can I wear makeup over it?
Yes. Let it settle for a minute or two, then apply makeup as usual.
Do I need it on cloudy days or indoors?
Yes. UVA passes through cloud and window glass, so wear it every day, all year.
Is it a mineral or a chemical sunscreen?
It uses modern filters, including Tinosorb S and Tinosorb M, rather than zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. That is why it goes on invisibly with no white cast. If you prefer a mineral-only sunscreen, ask us at your consultation.
How much should I apply?
More than most people think. Use about a quarter of a teaspoon for your face (roughly two finger-lengths), and a little more to cover your neck and ears. Applying too thinly gives you far less protection than the SPF on the bottle.
Is it water-resistant?
Yes. The maker states it stays water-resistant for up to 3 hours. Always reapply after swimming, heavy sweating or towel drying.
Does it protect against blue light from screens?
It includes melanin to help absorb high-energy visible (blue) light. The sun is by far the biggest source of it; screens give off much less. Wearing it every morning covers both.
